Simply put, the mission of the RAP Coalition is to bring
people of Rutland County together to prevent drug use,
tobacco use, and alcohol abuse by teaching them how to
make better choices for themselves and others.
The Rutland Area Prevention Coalition has been serving
Rutland County for more than 13 years. Staff attend
conferences and trainings on a regular basis and
coalition meetings are held monthly.
Our organization facilitates tobacco and substance abuse
education activities including but not limited to: health fairs,
school presentations, community events, parent education,
community meetings, focus forums, and more. We also
distribute tobacco and substance abuse related materials
throughout the community and offer resource loans to
interested schools and organizations.
In addition, RAP sponsors the Tobacco Education and
Prevention Coalition (TEPCO), which brings together tobacco
prevention and cessation professionals throughout Rutland
County to work on environmental change.
The Education and Wellness Center provides resources such
as videos, books, tapes, brochures, and more regarding
substance abuse prevention, stress management, and more.
